Tennis - Former World No. 1 Novak Djokovic says his enforced break from tennis due to an injury is a blessing as he will be able to use the time to spend it with his family and also welcome the birth of his second child with wife Jelena.
Speaking to The Express UK, the 12-time major champion says, “Everything that is happening in life, is happening for a reason. I’m going to try to use this time the best way I can and spend it with my family.
In about a month Jelena and me with God’s help are going to become parents again. It looks like this had to happen and it was God’s message ‘now it’s enough’ “Everything that happened to me, and there were tons of beautiful things, family and tennis related, can waste energy in a man.
In a nice way, but they can drain you.” Djokovic said he has been struggling with an elbow injury for the past year and in July, he announced that he would skip the rest of the season in order to heal the injury and only come back next year.
Since winning the French Open last May to complete a non-calendar year Grand Slam and become the eighth player to win all the four majors in their career, the Serb has struggled with motivation to replicate that success on the court.
