Goran Ivanisevic played more than 1,000 matches as a professional tennis player, and some of them were epic ones. But the last time he strung a racket was at the beginning of the 1980s. 'I was awful and have never done so since.
I missed out a couple of strings. At the start of my pro career in 1988, I had my racquets strung at 24/23kg, then 27/26kg and finally at the end at 28/27kg,' the 2001 Wimbledon champion told the ATP Champions Tour website.
Asked when was the last time he lost something important, Ivanisevic gave an interesting answer: 'I’m really bad, but the most important thing has probably been losing money from my pocket. $100 bills. I do have a wallet, but I keep losing money from my pocket.' Last time he bought tennis balls? 'It was quite recently actually in Split, as I was playing with my son and I needed to buy some tennis balls.' ALSO READ: Goran Ivanisevic: 'Pete Sampras ruined my life' .
