Elias Ymer: 'If people fought like Nadal, they would go up in the rankings'

Elias Ymer is one of the NextGen players who are trying to breakthrough in the tennis elite. The Swedish player has two great inspirations in his life: his fellow colleague and tennis player Rafael Nadal, and Mike Tyson. 'In tennis, I draw inspiration from Nadal.

He has an unbelievable mentality and fighting prowess. If people could fight like him, they would go up the ranking. Nadal is very special player', said Ymer during Bengaluru Open this week. The World No. 147 also mentioned Tyson: 'Yes, I read Mike Tyson's book.

Many people talk about his bad stuff. But I like his mentality that I need on the court. He really has that fighting spirit and I get motivated by him. I liked him since I was 17.' Ymer has a special relationship with the Swedish legend Stefan Edberg: 'I interacted a lot with Edberg.

He was sponsoring me with some money, when I was young. I also went with him for practice in his home town.' ALSO READ: 2017 ATP Prize Money Leaders: Nadal above Federer. Dimitrov is third
