Marco Chiudinelli is one of Roger Federer's childhood closest friends. The former World No. 52, who retired from tennis in October at the ATP 500 Basel event under Roger's eyes, praised the 19-time Grand Slam champion's off-court character.
'It's like a normal friendship. The most important thing is the honesty, trusting each other', Chiudinelli told BZ. 'Nothing changed since he was very successful: he is still with feet on the ground. That's real.
We do not meet each other often, but when we do, we spend a good time together.' Asked if he played tennis at least once since he retired from the professional sport, Chiudinelli replied: 'Not at all. At the moment I don't want to play tennis.
I loved tennis, it was my passion. This feeling will definitely be there again, but I need time to get used to play tennis "only for fun".' ALSO READ: Lucie Safarova announces big news through hilarious video
