Khachanov is set to clash against home-favorite Lucas Pouille in the final. The 47th-ranked Russian hasn't dropped a single set this week in Marseille as all of his four wins came in straight sets. Khachanov and No.

3 seed Pouille have no previous meetings. "I don't know...hopefully. I like this year's tournament," Khachanov said when asked if Marseille would be on his calendar every year if he wins this year's title.

Khachanov also acknowledged the fact that he is playing in Marseille for the third straight year. The Russian failed to make it past the Marseille qualifying in 2016 as he lost in the qualifying first round to German Mischa Zverev.

The 22-year-old was defeated by France's Gilles Simon in the Marseille first round last year. "We will see...why not," Khachanov added. Also read: Marin Cilic out of Acapulco .
