Alexander Zverev was in a foul mood during his third round match on Wednesday at the Monte Carlo Masters against Jan-Lennard Struff. During the match, Zverev kicked away a board sponsor at the back of court as he almost fell on it. Then Zverev threw his racket on the ground and then shouted at a spectator, spitting in his direction.
The Sky Sports pundit Annabel Croft had some strong words to describe the scene. 'It was a very angry match from him all the way through and spitting the way that he did is pretty disgusting,' Croft said. 'It shouldn’t be allowed and I’m sure he will get funded or there will be some sort of repercussion for that. He shouldn’t have done it.'
Zverev will now face or Richard Gasquet on Friday in the quarter-finals. Gasquet, who defeated Mischa Zverev in the third round, became the first French player to win 500 matches.
