Fabio Fognini: 'I made Rafael Nadal unhappy more times'

Fabio Fognini doesn't approach the quarter-finals match at the Rome Open against Rafael Nadal being already beaten. The Italian knows that he can have his chances if he plays well. Fognini already defeated Nadal twice on clay, at 2015 Barcelona and Rio de Janeiro events. 'I sent him packing more times making him unhappy', Fognini said. 'There are few words to describe him on this surface, he is the No. 1 in history. I am serving well and for me to have a free point on serve per game means a lot.'

Analyzing his straight sets win over the German Peter Gojowczyk, Fognini said: 'I was more nervous than past days, I think you could see it from 3-2 in the second set. I am in the Rome quarters, which is the most important thing, I hope to recover in the best way.'
