In his post-match press conference, Kei Nishikori explained his disappointing performance against Karen Khachanov in the second round in Halle. The Japanese player lost in straight sets on Tuesday. 'I just made too many unforced errors,' the Japanese player told reporters.
'He was playing good but nothing special. I think I made so many mistakes and I think today I couldn't make good serves and also I should have tried to stay a little bit more on the baseline. I think that all mistakes were from me.' Nishikori has clear plans to improve: 'Well, I’ve got to practice a little more.
The first match I was playing good tennis but still, there are ups and downs. Karen hits very flat and he’s not easy to play on grass, you know, a tough opponent but I’ve got to keep practicing a little more.' ALSO READ: Roger Federer's chances at Wimbledon: Novak Djokovic gives verdict
