Katerina Siniakova recently spoke about being a part of the Fed Cup Team, saying that she was happy with her first experience. Siniakova played two singles rubbers, winning both of them and helping Czech Republic take an unassailable 3-0 lead.
"My first experience was really good and I was excited to get out onto the court and I’m really happy I could finish it with the win," she said. "It was amazing and a great feeling – I’ll never forget it." In a match lasting for almost 4 hours, Siniakova said, “I was just trying to fight for every point and focus for every point, be on my game and when I had chances just go for it and be aggressive," she reflected.
"I think it went pretty well so I’m happy about it." Her team-mate Barbora Strycova also spoke about the win, "I’ve been thinking about [retiring from Fed Cup competition] since the beginning of the year," Strycova said.
“I’m 32 and sometimes you know things and sometimes you feel it’s the right decision. At the US Open I was thinking about it and I knew this is the right thing. I can’t tell you the reason, I just know this is the right time to go.” "We’ve got so many good players who can play and who can win matches like these.
We’ve also got good doubles players. I can go with my head up and I’m proud of myself." ALSO READ It's not easy to breakthrough with Roger Federer and Nadal, says Zverev
