Ashleigh Barty: I want to prove I'm a top-15 player, possibly top 10

Grand Slam success in singles is the next thing on Ashleigh Barty’s radar with the Australian capped an amazing 2018 season that saw her lift the US Open Doubles title and end the year in the Top-15 of both Singles and Doubles.

She also ended the year by winning the WTA Elite Trophy in Zhuhai after taking out local hope Wang in straight sets. Courtesy her rather amazing season, she was awarded the Newcombe Medal for a second time. "Making the second week of the US Open was really special, the US Open was really special for me in all regards, and we're just really excited to try and take the little steps to get to the big ones," Barty told AAP. “Obviously the elusive top 10 is right there but it's very simple for me: I really want to stay consistent.” "I want to prove I'm a top-15 player, possibly top 10," she further added.

Barty dedicated her second straight Newcombe Medal, which she shared this year with exciting teenager Alex de Minaur, to her coach Craig Tyzzer. Barty has stepped up her game since she joined hands with Tyzzer after making a return to tennis in 2016 following a stint playing professional cricket.

Recently, Nicole Pratt said that she sees Barty achieving Grand Slam Success. Her thoughts have been shared by Alicia Molik too. ALSO READ Denis Shapovalov might be capturing his first title soon: Here's why
