Greg Rusedski: Stefanos Tsitsipas reminds me of a young Roger Federer

Former British tennis star Greg Rusedski has tipped Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas to one day win Wimbledon and become the world No. 1. The 20-year-old is enjoying a breakthrough season on the tour and a career-high ranking of No.

6 in the world. The Greek made his maiden Grand Slam semifinal at the Australian Open in January before losing to Spain's Rafael Nadal. Tsitsipas will now be aiming to continue his rise this grass season and achieve his new best result at The All England Club.

The 20-year-old's best result at Wimbledon came last year, when he made the round-of-16 before losing to eventual semifinalist John Isner. "He (Tsitsipas) so much better as a player than he was a year ago and he’s getting better" Rusedski told Amazon Prime, per Metro UK.

"His transitioning game coming forward, playing doubles so much more this year… I think he will be a Wimbledon champion as well as a world No. 1 one day. He’s that good. Tsitsipas beat record 20-time Grand Slam champion on his way to reaching the Australian Open semifinal. "He reminds me of a young Roger Federer. A guy who’s got that full package."
