Spanish tennis star Roberto Bautista Agut didn't think he would make it this far at Wimbledon as he was planning to be in Ibiza right now for his bachelor party. Bautista Agut, ranked at No. 22 in the world, beat Argentina's Guido Pella 7-5 6-4 3-6 6-3 to reach his maiden Grand Slam semifinal at Wimbledon.
"I was planning to be in Ibiza for my bachelor party, six friends are already there, I think my friends will come to London," Bautista Agut revealed after beating Pella, per Ubitennis Twitter. Bautista Agut blew the break he earned in the opening game of the match but successfully served out for the opener after claiming his second break in the 11th game.
No. 26 seed Pella once again dropped his service in the opening game of the set but this time the Spaniard held on to his serve as he took a two-set lead. After slow starts to the first two sets, Pella made a strong start to the third set as he took an early 3-0 lead before serving out for the set in the ninth game.
The turning point of the match came at the beginning of the fourth set when Bautista Agut saved two consecutive break points in the third game before earning the key break a game later. No. 23 seed Bautista Agut will fight against defending champion Novak Djokovic for a place in the Wimbledon final.
