Eugenie Bouchard's coach Jorge Todero spoke about his new co-operation with the Canadian player. Todero feels confident about Bouchard's future. "I met her two weeks ago. She worked very hard. I am very excited to help her.
I asked her what her goal was. She said, I want to be back at my level. She can do it. If she keeps working like she does, she can succeed", said Todero. Can Bouchard be a world No. 5 again like she was in October 2014? "Now, yes.
But we need time. We have to work step by step to make her passion be there again in matches. I am very pleased with her", Todero said. Meanwhile, Venus Williams spoke about the upcoming match between Bouchard and her compatriot Bianca Andreescu: "I am sure it's not easy to play each other in the first round being from the same country and playing at home.
So it should be a competitive match. I mean, Genie has been to the finals of Wimbledon, so she has the experience. And I can't really say I think much about other matches. So if you have any questions about me or my match, then let me know now, or else I'll exit stage right."
Bouchard is 112th ranked at the moment. She is definitely not going through a good season, dealing with injuries and changing coaches.
