Former five-time NBA champion and Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant reveals he has become a big tennis fan since ending his highly successful basketball career. Bryant, 41, enjoys watching and playing tennis as he has made a trip to the US Open to see the best players in the world in live action.
"I am (a tennis guy). I enjoy playing. I enjoy watching. Now, enjoying playing tennis and actually being good at playing tennis are two different things. But I enjoy it," Bryant exclusively told Jon Wertheim of Sports Illustrated at the US Open.
At the beginning of the 2015/2016 NBA season, Bryant announced that would be his last season. The Lakers didn't make the Playoffs that season but Bryant's career came to an end in an epic style as he scored 60 points to lead the Lakers to a win over the Utan Jazz in his last game.
When asked how he started playing tennis, Bryant explained: "Well, it was about a week after I retired. About a week after my last game. So, I mean, it feels like it was recently but I think it was like three years ago. It’s amazing how time flies."
