French tennis star Jo Wilfried Tsonga insists it won't be easy against world No. 76 Aljaz Bedene in the Moselle Open final as he says the Slovenian has been performing great throughout the whole week in Metz. Tsonga, 34, overcame fourth-seeded Lucas Pouille in two tight sets 7-6 (6) 7-6 (4) to make his fourth final on the indoor-hard courts of Metz.
On the other side, former world No. 43 Bedene lost his first set of the week but still managed to clinch a win over second-seeded French home favorite Benoit Paire 4-6 6-1 6-2. "I know Aljaz has improved a lot since we last played," Tsonga said, per the ATP website.
"He is playing very confidently now. He has been playing amazing all week, serving really well. I am looking forward to a big battle, a difficult match, but I am going to do everything to try and lift the trophy for a fourth time."
In their first and lone meeting, the 34-year-old Frenchman handed a straight-set defeat to 30-year-old Bedene at the French Open in 2013.
