Gael Monfils: 'Elina Svitolina changed my life'

Through an Instagram post Gael Monfils wished happy birthday to his girlfriend Elina Svitolina. The Frenchman wrote: "Happy Birthday to my Love. You have changed my life in more ways than u know." In an interview to Eurosport Monfils was asked if he thinks about potentially reaching the ATP Finals in London: "Honestly I do not think about it.

We will speak about it if I am still competing after the Asian swing, the real race starts in Europe. Very often everything is decided in Bercy. Last year I had the same schedule and in the end I hurt myself and I did not compete.

I hope my body will be doing well this time. When I started the year with my new team, one of the goals was to play well in the Grand Slams, and I did not really manage to achieve it. I expected more." On the Davis Cup Finals in Madrid, Monfils concluded: "It's still far away but if Sebastien Grosjean (the new captain) calls me, I will have a big pleasure to be picked."

Speaking about the partnership with ASICS, Serena Williams's coach Patrick Mouratoglou said: “I’m thrilled to partner with ASICS. They are not only a brand with a strong reputation of having the most technologically advanced tennis shoes on the market, but they also believe just as strongly as I do in the importance of the mental aspect of tennis.

I’m looking forward to working closely with ASICS on the research and development side of the game as well, with their Institute of Sport Science in Kobe, Japan”.
