In a press conference at the WTA Finals in Shenzhen Elina Svitolina analyzed her championship class loss to Ashleigh Barty. The Ukrainian player said: "I think she was playing great match today. She was on it 100%. Then it was very, very tough.
In the first set I had one small opportunity. Unfortunately she played great, on line. I didn't really had any other chance to come back. Then everything happened really quickly in the first set. That was the key for the first set, I think.
Then second set, it was little bit, you know, up and down. But, yeah, she really played well today. Yeah, it was tough for me to do something. I think, yeah, I missed just little bit of my chances and that's what made the difference.
But she's No. 1 in the world for a reason, so..." Asked what she will do in the off-season, Svitolina replied: "So I'm going to first of all come back and do a scan for my knee. It's the priority for me to be healthy for next season.
I'm going to see what I can do. The pain is still there. It's on and off. I have to manage it. This going to be the first thing. Then I'll take some time. I'm going to go to London probably because someone is reserved, so have to be there", said Svitolina smiling referring to her boyfriend Gael Monfils who is the second alternate at the ATP Finals.
"Then I'll go to Ukraine for little bit. We'll slowly go to Dubai where we'll do our off-season and our preparation there for almost like one month."
