Joe Salisbury & Rajeev Ram react to earning first win at ATP Finals

Londoner Joe Salisbury didn't hide how happy he was after claiming his first win at the Nitto ATP Finals on Tuesday. Salisbury and his American partner Rajeev Ram came from a set down to beat Ivan Dodig and Filip Polasek 3-6 6-3 10-6 and improve to 1-1 in Group Jonas Bjorkman.

"It’s so special to be here and get the win today,” Salisbury said after the match, per the Nitto ATP Finals website. “We had to fight so hard. Rajeev was amazing, like he was in the first match, and I managed to get there and raise my level in the end." Salisbury and Ram didn't make a good start to their ATP Finals campaign, having lost to Raven Klaasen and Michael Venus on the opening day of the event.

Salisbury and Ram entered the match against Dodig and Polasek desperate to get a win and keep their semifinal chances alive. "I know I’m not a Brit, but I’m happy to be here and take in all the support you’re giving for my boy,” Ram said. It was a few points here or there. We really stuck together as a team and I think that’s why we got the win."
