Qatar ExxonMobil Open Tournament Director Karim Alami is looking forward to hosting some of the best players in the world in the opening week of the new season as he says he is happy with the 2020 Doha player field. The Qatar Open will be held simultaneously as the inaugural ATP Cup but still it has managed to gather a strong player field as three-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka and 2016 Wimbledon runner-up Milos Raonic have confirmed their participation.
France's Jo Wilfried Tsonga, Gael Monfils and Richard Gasquet, as well as 2009 Australian Open semifinalist Fernando Verdasco and rising star Andrey Rublev are also expected to play at the Doha event. "In line with our tradition, Qatar ExxonMobil Open is once again attracting some of the best players to Doha for a week-long feast of tennis.
We are happy to welcome the players to this sport-loving country again and we believe that this year’s tournament will record another great success, as all arrangements are on track to ensure the fans and players have the best of time.
We look forward to hosting everyone at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex," Doha Tournament Director Alami said, per the Gulf Times.
