Belgium's David Goffin says all the pieces have come together at the right time for Andrey Rublev and that's why the rising Russian star is playing so well at the beginning of the new season. Goffin, ranked at No.

11 in the world, suffered a third round exit at the Australian Open after picking up a 2-6 7-6 (3) 6-4 7-6 (4) loss to No. 17 seed Rublev. Rublev, who is enjoying a career-high ranking of No. 16 in the world, started the season with back-to-back titles captured in Doha and Adelaide.

The 22-year-old Russian has been exceptional since the start of the year now with his latest win he has 11 wins and zero losses this season. "Now he (Rublev) is full of confidence, he has the shots, he has the fitness so everything has come together...

That's why he is playing well.," Goffin told reporters after falling short to the Russian. Rublev now owns a 2-0 head-to-head record against Goffin as he also beat the 29-year-old Belgian in their first meeting at the US Open in 2017.
