Benoit Paire: I will never win a Grand Slam

French tennis star Benoit Paire, 30, was in a good mood during his Instagram Live session with three-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka on Monday night. Paire, who started the live video with Wawrinka at 11pm, was relaxed during the whole Instagram Live session as he was enjoying a Get 31 drink and making jokes with the Swiss.

Paire, a three-time ATP champion, spoke about his achievements at the Grand Slam level as he admitted that he will likely never win a Major event. "I have never won, and I will never win a Grand Slam. I don't have the physical, mental capacity.

You tell me, go train like crazy, I won't," Paire said on Instagram Live, as revealed by Matthere Battue. Paire has never made a quarterfinal at the Grand Slam level but he has managed to make a round-of-16 on three different Majors.

World No. 22 Paire made his first Grand Slam round-of-16 at the US Open in 2015, before he was beaten by fellow compatriot Jo Wilfried Tsonga. A bit interestingly, the Frenchman -- who openly admitted a few years ago that he wasn't a fan of grass -- made the last-16 at Wimbledon in 2017 and 2019.

Paire, who considers clay as his favorite surface, finally made a breakthrough at the French Open last year when he reached his first round-of-16 at the tournament. Former world No. 18 Paire blew a great chance to make his maiden Grand Slam quarterfinal at Roland Garros as he was beaten in the round-of-16 after failing to serve out for the match against Kei Nishikori.
