Promising French tennis player Arthur Fils has acknowledged that he is aware that he has to stay calm in pressure moments as getting nervous and upset won't bring him anything positive. Fils, 16, received a wildcard for the French Open qualifying event and produced one of the biggest upsets of qualifying Day 1 as he stunned former world No.

17 Tomic. Fils, ranked at No. 1034 in the world, recovered from a set down to beat world 213 Tomic 6-7 (3) 7-6 (1) 6-3. Fils showed frustration and anger at times against Tomic but in the end he managed to escape with a victory.

"I'm capable of getting angry. In juniors it's fine, but with the pros it doesn't work out. My coach talks to me about it all the time," Fils said, per Quentin Moynet of L'Equipe.

Fils pulled off a comeback win against Tomic

Fils made a perfect start to the match as he broke Tomic in the second game and served out the following game to take an early 3-0 lead.

Tomic responded as he converted his second break point in the seventh game to get the break back. After saving a set point in the 10th game, Tomic broke Fils in the 11th game but failed to serve out for the set in the 12th game.

However, Tomic held his nerves as he realized his second set point in the tie-break to win a tight opener. Fils also made a good start to the second set, having broken Tomic in the opening game. Fils failed to serve out for the set in the 10th game but kept his focus as he dominated Tomic in the tie-break to force a decider.

Fils lost his serve in the opening game of the third set but then broke Tomic in back-to-back games to take a 4-1 lead. Fils then held on to his serve the rest of the match to complete a comeback win against Tomic. "The goal was to be solid from start to finish, not to get upset. I rather accomplished it," Fils said.
