“$1B girl” Emma Raducanu follows prophecy in all-star £6m Christmas ad

Emma Raducanu continues to reap the benefits of her unexpected US Open title win, as she appeared alongside 15 other British sports stars in a Sports Direct ad that reportedly costed 6 million pounds. In the video commercial, which invites people to get out of their houses this winter and enjoy the snow, Raducanu dodges snow balls and shouts “new balls, please!”, before serving and hitting British football player Jack Grealish in the back.

The message of the commercial is “Go All Out This Christmas!”, which invites viewers to stop being busy and enjoy the season with all of its beauty. Six footballers play in the ad, including West Ham's Declan Rice, Manchester City's Jack Grealish, Everton's Jordan Pickford and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Chelsea's Mason Mount, and Chelsea and England Women's player Fran Kirby.

Besides them and Emma Raducanu, Olympic gold medalist Jessica Ennis-Hill, heptathlete Katarina Johnson-Thompson, and rugby trio Maro Itoje, Anthony Watson, and Harriet Millar-Mill are among the athletes that also took part in the making of the commercial.

Raducanu follows $1B prophecy

Emma Raducanu, the 18-year-old Romanian tennis prodigy, was one of the two surprises of the 2021 US Open, with major companies lining up to negotiate and plan future campaigns with the tennis prodigy.

Since Lewis Hamilton and Naomi Osaka, marketing experts said they have never seen such engagement from businesses. Marketing pundit Mark Borkowski, shared a very optimistic point of view regarding Emma Raducanu’s future.

“Potentially, I see her as a billion dollar girl. She's everything that is really positive about the new icons that this age has got to throw up. In the conflicting culture wars, here we have someone who is young, incredibly talented, has a multi-cultural background, everything about her is what every brand would like to get their hands on right now.

However, I feel the bubble will burst if she doesn't win tomorrow night," said Borkowski to SunSport. After her Met Gala and James Bond premiere appearances, her Chanel, Dior, and Tiffany collaborations, and this novel Sports Direct ad, Raducanu seems to be heading toward a record-breaking future, unless her performances start to go in the wrong direction.
