Married tennis stars Elina Svitolina and Gael Monfils officially have a daughter. Svitolina announced that she gave birth to a baby girl named Skai Monfils on Saturday. "What a night!!! Ladies and gentlemen, please give a warm welcome to Skaï Monfils.

Can’t thank enough my husband to live thru this unforgettable moment with me," Svitolina tweeted on Saturday.

Gael Monfils was also quick to spread the news.

"I had the most amazing night of my life, which ended with the most beautiful gift around 6:00 Am. Elina was strong and brave. I can't thank enough my wife and God for this special moment. Welcome to the world my little princess SKAÏ," Gael Monfils tweeted.

Monfils couldn't wait to be a daddy

In May this year, Gael Monfils and his wife Svitolina announced they are going to have a baby.

Svitolina, of course, took a long break from tennis to go through her pregnancy. "With a heart full of love and happiness, we are delighted to announce that we are expecting a baby girl in October," Svitolina wrote in a Twitter post.

Monfils clearly expressed his excitement about becoming a father. “Yeah [I’m excited], it's gonna be a different life. I can’t wait to have my baby girl, I hope I’ll be a cool daddy. It's gonna be in a couple of weeks now.

So I just have to focus now, daddy he has to win a couple more matches and be ready for October,” Monfils said. The Monfils-Svitolina couple tied the knot last year and they look to be a great pair. Monfils showed his support for his wife on plenty of occasions.

“Gael has been here every step of the way, he is a huge support. Obviously he sees that I’m not in the best mood everyday, there are ups and downs so I’m really thankful for his support, I know it’s difficult for him to see me sad,” Svitolina told the Olympics website.
