Bernard Tomic has "put aside his differences with Nick Kyrgios" and wished the 2022 Wimbledon finalist a quick recovery from a knee surgery. In the last 12 months, there were several times when Tomic and Kyrgios went at each other.
This time, Tomic is doing a good thing and sending a message of support to Kyrgios "Despite our differences we go way back. Wish @kingkyrgios a quick recovery. Hope to see him back on the circuit soon," Tomic wrote on his Instagram Story.
Kyrgios responded: "Cheers bruh."
Tomic took a moment to wish Kyrgios a quick recovery
Before the start of the Australian Open, an MRI scan on Kyrgios' knee revealed a cyst as a result of a small lateral meniscus tear.
After withdrawing from this year's Australian Open, Kyrgios realized that undergoing a surgery was the best thing to do in this situation. "Surgery complete. I'll be doing everything I can do get back to my best. To the real ones checking in and sending the vibes.
I love you," Kyrgios announced over the weekend. Leading up to the Australian Open, Kyrgios pulled out of the United Cup and Adelaide 2. Kyrgios tried to play at the Australian Open but the knee wasn't doing well and the 27-year-old had no other choice but to skip the opening Grand Slam of the season.
“Barely had a good night’s sleep the last four, five nights. It’s just been throbbing. Every time I land on serve or push off my serve, you can see on the side of my knee there’s like a little lump. That lump will eventually just get bigger and bigger.
There’s pressure on my knee (that) obviously hinders my movement. Yeah, the only real way to get rid of it is to open up and then just get rid of it," Kyrgios explained. It remains to be seen when will Kyrgios be ready to return to action.
