Eugenie Bouchard reacts to Aryna Sabalenka being her own psychologist: Love it

Eugenie Bouchard approves Aryna Sabalenka ditching a sports psychologist and saying only she could fix her problems. Sabalenka, 24, kicked off her 2023 season by winning Adelaide and her first Grand Slam title at the Australian Open.

"Love this," Bouchard wrote on Twitter.

Sabalenka is off to her best-ever start to a season and she credits her new attitude and approach for her early-season success.

"To be honest, I decided to stop working with a psychologist. I realized that nobody than me will help, you know? Yeah, on the preseason I spoke to my psychologist saying, like, 'Listen, I feel like I have to deal with that by myself, because every time hoping that someone will fix my problem, it's not fixing my problem.'

I just have to take this responsibility and I just have to deal with that. Yeah, I'm not working with a psychologist anymore. I'm my psychologist," Sabalenka revealed.

Bouchard approves Sabalenka being her own psychologist

Just a couple of days ago, Sabalenka admitted that in the past she used to easily get annoyed and irritated on the court.

But since the start of the 2023 season, Sabalenka has been dealing with everything in a much calmer way. Also, Sabalenka has jokingly said several times in the last few weeks that she become "boring." “I'm not that boring, I think.

I'm still screaming 'c'mon' and all that stuff. I don't think it's that boring to watch me. I hope so. Just less negative emotions," Sabalenka said. Sabalenka had a 2022 season full of ups and downs. But late in the 2022 season, Sabalenka made the final at the Wta Finals.

After a strong finish to the 2022 season, Sabalenka got off to an outstanding start to the 2023 season. If Sabalenka continues playing this way, she could end up having a major 2023 season.
