Nick Kyrgios sided with Mikael Ymer after Ymer's heated moment with the chair umpire in Lyon as the Australian felt the Swede was a victim of another umpire not doing its job properly. Late in the first set of the Lyon round-of-16 meeting, Ymer and Arthur Fils were tied to five games apiece with the score being 30-30 on the Frenchman's serve.
In the next point, Fils' return was called in but Ymer was 100% certain that the ball went out. Ymer wanted the chair umpire to check out the mark but the umpire thought it was too late for that and declined to do so. Ymer got broken in the 11th game and he voiced his frustration by smashing his racket against the chair umpire's chair.
The supervisor was called and Ymer was instantly disqualified.

Kyrgios wrote in the comment section of Tennis TV's Instagram post.

I hit this ball, and you're telling me you're not even gonna come down and check the mark? I have never witnessed that a ref says: 'I'm not gonna come down and check the mark.' It doesn't happen," Ymer ranted at the chair umpire.
Rohan Bopanna, a Grand Slam doubles champion, also said the chair umpire was wrong in not coming down to check the mark. "Very true what Mikael is saying. Me also can't believe why the chair umpire does not go down to check the mark," Bopanna wrote on Instagram. Not only that Ymer exited Lyon in a very bizarre way, he will also probably be hit with a hefty fine.
