Nick Kyrgios is heavily excited about the upcoming Thanasi Kokkinakis and Stan Wawrinka French Open second-round match. In 2015 August, Kyrgios told Wawrinka during their Montreal Masters match: "Kokkinakis banged your girlfriend, sorry to tell you that mate." At the time, Wawrinka was dating fellow tennis pro Donna Vekic.

Kyrgios, who is good friends with Kokkinakis, was later fined $10,000 for insulting Wawrinka. "KOKK V STAN. LFG (Let's freaking go) HAHAHAHAHA CMONNNNN…. this is what we live for……. Stan don’t wanna lose this one," Kyrgios tweeted.

After the 2015 Montreal incident, Wawrinka said Kyrgios was "disrespectful in a way I could never even imagine." "So disappointing to see a fellow athlete and colleague be so disrespectful in a way I could never even imagine.

What was said I wouldn’t say to my worst enemy. To stop [sic] so low is not only unacceptable but also beyond belief. There is no need for this kind of behaviour on or off the court and I hope the governing body of this sport does not stand for this and stands up for the integrity of this sport that we have worked so hard to build," Wawrinka said after the 2015 Montreal match.

When Vekic was asked about the incident, she said it was "disappointing" to see something like that happen on a tennis court. "It's not easy but I'm trying to focus on tennis and my next match. I haven't spoken to Kyrgios. But it's a very disappointing thing to be happening in our sport and I hope it won't happen again because it's not a very good image for our sport," Vekic said at the time.

When Kokkinakis and Wawrinka meet, it will be their first-ever meeting. Kokkinakis handed Dan Evans a straight-set defeat in his French Open first-round match, while Wawrinka needed five sets to beat Albert Ramos-Vinolas.
