Alison Van Uytvanck married her partner Emilie Vermeiren on Sunday July 16, the same day Carlos Alcaraz defeated Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon final. Before dating Vermeiren, Van Uytvanck was engaged to fellow WTA player Greet Minnen, also from Belgium.

Van Uytvanck and Vermeiren started dating last spring when they went public with their relationship during the 2022 French Open. The pair posed for a romantic selfie in front of the Eiffel Tower, captioning, "From Paris with love." Van Uytvanck posted the photos of the wedding on Instagram, writing in the post: "Finally being able to call you my wife is a wish that came true, it was a perfect day celebrating with our family and friends, we all love you!

Mrs&Mrs Van Uytvanck - Vermeiren!" Alison Van Uytvanck has been absent from the WTA since February with back problems, and she hopes to return for the season on the North American hard-courts. The Tennis World USA staff wishes Alyson and Emilie a very happy birthday!

When Greet Minnen and Alison Van Uytvanck made their engagement official

On December 24, 2023, Alison Van Uytvanck and Greet Minnen, the most famous LGBTQ+ couple of the WTA at the time, had decided to formalize their relationship through social networks on Christmas Eve.

The tennis players, both of Belgian nationality, shared a photo on Instagram that shows them embracing with the engagement rings on their hands highlighted. Greet Minnen commented on her photo by writing "She Said Yes," referring to the response she received from her partner to the engagement question and using the hashtag #loveofmylife.

Alison Van Uytvanck instead posted the same photo with her comment: Engaged and wishing her followers a Christmas. The love story between the two Flemish tennis players had been known to the public and the tabloids for some time, having also experienced the moment of maximum celebrity in 2019 ago during the 125K in Karlsruhe, when a mocking draw pitted them against each other in the first round: it's not every day you have to face your partner, girlfriend, husband, family member in a professional tournament!
