Martina Navratilova has returned to talk about the participation of transgender athletes born men in women's sports competitions. The US tennis icon reposted a video of International Consortium on Female Sport (ICFS), writing: "It is happening literally everywhere." The original retweeted post referred to a transgender athlete who competed in weightlifting, and said: "This is NOT a legitimate 🇨🇦National Record.

This is a mediocre lift by a mediocre male who is being allowed to lift against women because… hair colour? Shame on the Canadian Powerlifting Union (CPU). This is discrimination against the female competitors."

The victory of Alicia Rowley, a born male tennis player, in one of the tournaments for women over 55 organized by the United States Tennis Association, sparked a harsh reaction from Martina Navratilova.

The former 9-time Wimbledon champion has railed against the presence of trans athletes in certain women's events.Champion of LGBTQ+ battles, Navratilova was one of the first sportswomen to come out to send an important message.

The 18-time singles Grand Slam champion intervened in a discussion born on Twitter and expressed her point of view without using too many words. Navratilova explained: "Hey, USTA: women's tennis is not for failed men athletes, whatever their age.

Would this be allowed at the US Open this month? Only with ID? I don't think so… It is patriarchy for biological men to insist on the right to enter spaces created for women. How hard is that to understand? It is patriarchy for biological men to insist on the right to compete in the women's category in sports." Not only.

Giggle founder and CEO Sall Grover shared a post on X in which she explained her perspective on the controversial topic, writing: "I simply don't understand why some people think it's controversial to say that women are physically weaker than men.

I mean, do these same people think women just allow rape to happen? Do they think women's sport is separate just to be annoying? Do they think at all?" A fan added to the post the words that Serena Williams had released in an old interview.

In that interview, Serena said that she wouldn't want to play against men because they are bigger, stronger and faster than her. She said at the time: "Men are much faster than me and they can serve better. They just hit a different game and I like to play with women tonight.

I don't want to play with girls because I don't want to be embarrassed." Navratilova responded to the fan's comment by writing: "It's a fact, it's called biology."
