Ons Jabeur reveals she is actually dealing with some type of flu and not with a stomach bug about which several players have complained at this year's US Open. Since the start of the US Open, there has been a lot of talk about a mysterious illness that has been going around Flushing Meadows.
So far this week, several players felt unwell and were forced to retire midway through their matches. Also, there was Emil Ruusuvuori, who felt unwell to the point that he couldn't even get out on the court. Jabeur has also been feeling unwell but reveals it's not because of a mysterious illness.
Also, Jabeur revealed that she knows several players who have been impacted by the mysterious illness and have experienced stomach issues.
Jabeur: It's not the stomach, it's a flu
"Actually my stomach is fine. It's not the stomach.
I think I got a flu or something. I know some other players got stomach issues. Not me, thankfully. I'm a zombie because I have a flu, otherwise... No, honestly I talked about this. I took vacation after Wimbledon. I think that really helped me kind of take a second breath for the rest of the season.
I feel like I will be tired maybe around Beijing. That's when it's going to get tough. But I think maybe last year's season helped me get used to playing a lot of matches. Yeah, emotionally could be tired, but I know if I just let go, I will regret it after, so I want to continue and stay in New York as long as I can," Jabeur said.

On Thursday night, Jabeur looked visibly unwell on the court. Still, Jabeur was able to find the strength to beat rising Czech star Linda Noskova 7-6 (7) 4-6 6-3.
Now, Jabeur has a day off and she will return to the court on Saturday for her US Open third-round match against Marie Bouzkova. It remains to be seen if Jabeur's condition can improve in the next few days.
