Martina Navratilova has released new and controversial words about transgender female athletes. The magic of Harry Potter failed to stop the harsh words released by the former American tennis player, who silenced actor Daniel Radcliffe for considering transgender women as women.
It all dates back to a post by JK Rowling, author of the Harry Potter saga, who wrote on X: "People who menstruate.' I'm sure there used to be a word for those people. Someone help me out. Wumben? Wimpund? Woomud?”
Radcliffe had spoken out in favor of transgender women, saying: "Transgender women are women.
Any statement to the contrary erases the identity and dignity of transgender people and goes against all advice given by professional health care associations who have far more expertise on this subject matter than either JK Rowling or I.
We need to do more to support transgender and non-binary people, not invalidate their identities, and not cause further harm."
Years after those words of JK Rowling, and Radcliff's statements, Martina Navratilova today posted the words of the British actor, writing on X the lapidary phrase: "Just be quiet Daniel.
Be quiet."

Navratilova on the transgender issue in sport
Navratilova returned to talk about when she was accused of transphobia because of her statements about transgender athletes in sports.
Navratilova recently spoke out very harshly against athletes born male who compete in women's sport, criticizing them sharply. Conversely, especially on social media, many users attacked the US tennis legend for the words she uttered.
Especially the recent ones about transgender swimmer Lia Thomas. Nvratilova also criticized USTA for her stance on transgender athletes competing in women's tennis tournaments after Alicia Rowley's issue. The former 9 times Wimbledon winner recently voiced her opinion about an American mother who lost custody of her daughter due to differing views on her daughter's gender identity.
Mrs.Jeanette Cooper lost custody of her teenage daughter due to her inability to accept that her daughter was transgender.
On the issue, Navratilova explained on X: "This is just so wrong… trans went from 0.02% of the population to going through the roof, statistically speaking. We are literally talking thousands of children into thinking they are trans… and taking them away from supportive parents- insane."
