Alexander Zverev has decided to invest in Formula 1. The German tennis player has gone beyond the world of tennis and decided to enter that of Motorsport. In particular, the Hamburg native decided to enter the world of Formula 1.
As The Guardian reports, a group of high-profile sports stars, including Trent Alexander‑Arnold, Anthony Joshua, Juan Mata, Alexander Zverev and Rory McIlroy, have joined as co-investors in a £173m stake in the Alpine Formula 1 team.
Alexander-Arnold, Joshua, Mata and Zverev participate as part of the Apex investment group. The value of their new co-investment in Alpine was not disclosed. The issue was then made official by the Slam finalist himself on social media.
Alexander Zverev has always declared himself a lover of Formula 1. He lives in Monte Carlo and took advantage of being a guest at the Monaco Grand Prix. On Instagram, there are photos of the US Open finalist in 2020 with Jackie Stewart, right in rich Monte Carlo, where the Grand Prix and Masters 1000 follow each other in just a few weeks.
Zverev invests in Formula 1
Zverev who, as a German, cannot help but follow the great history of his country in the most important car competitions. Last year his compatriot Sebastian Vettel said goodbye to Formula 1, the German wrote on Instagram how the driver would be missed at the F1 Circus.
Now, Zverev is ready to return to the circuit after Shanghai to start again in view of the ATP Finals in Turin and has chosen another place where Formula 1 is present with a circuit: Austria. The winner of the 2021 Finals is one of the top seeds at the ATP 500 in Vienna.
In the meantime, here is the post that Zverev shared on Instagram to celebrate his investment in F1: "It is an honor to join the Alpine Formula 1 team as a shareholder. I have followed this sport forever. The expectation of what this team will be able to realize it fills me with emotion."
