Elina Svitolina is "very grateful" to Iga Swiatek and Stefanos Tsitsipas for donating to her foundation and financially supporting Ukraine during the country's darkest period. Last year, Swiatek organized a charity event for Ukraine in Poland.

Also, Swiatek took part in a charity event for Ukraine that the US Open hosted in 2022. Tsitsipas also took part in the US Open's charity event for Ukraine last year and he donated $10k. Swiatek hasn't only financially supported Ukraine but has also been very vocal in her support for Ukraine since the start of the Russian invasion. “Stefanos Tsitsipas made a donation to my foundation, I am very grateful to him.

Iga Swiatek did a lot for Ukrainians, our foundation. She transferred a very large amount to United24. This really helped us to make the tennis camps for children that we hold every year. She is a very powerful support," Svitolina told Tribuna UA.

Swiatek has been very outspoken in her support for Ukraine and even said earlier this year that the tennis authorities should have banned Russian and Belarusian players from competing in tournaments after Russia invaded Ukraine.

“I heard that after World War II, German players were not allowed as well as Japanese and Italian, and I feel like this kind of thing would show the Russian government that maybe it’s not worth it. I know it’s a small thing because we are just athletes, a little piece in the world but I feel like sport is pretty important and sport has always been used in propaganda.

This is something that was considered at the beginning, tennis didn’t really go that way, but now it would be pretty unfair for Russian and Belarusian players to do that because this decision was supposed to be made a year ago," Swiatek told the BBC in April.
