Ana Ivanovic took to social media to reveal she hit the court and then also sent out a few messages that may have been a hint that the former world No 1 is planning to return to tennis. Ivanovic, the 2008 French Open champion, retired from pro tennis after the 2016 season, just a month after turning 29.
On Tuesday, 36-year-old Ivanovic posted a video to her Instagram Story of her hitting balls on a clay court. "Endless love," Ivanovic captioned her Instagram story.

Why Ivanovic retired relatively young?
On December 28th, 2016, Ivanovic announced she was retiring just days before the start of the 2017 season.
Last year, it was the sixth anniversary of Ivanovic's retirement. On December 28th, 2022, Ivanovic decided to share with her fans what pushed her into retirement. "I think it's always a very hard moment in your career when you make that decision but to be honest, last year or over a year, I was really struggling with a lot of injuries and I felt like I could never get myself back in a shape to be in the top and I really felt it was time for me to step back and to look for other opportunities and other wishes that I had for starting a different career," Ivanovic said in a video uploaded on her Instagram last year.
Also, Ivanovic answered how hard it was for her to leave pro tennis. "It was very hard. I think it was one of the hardest decisions I had to make. But also it was encouraging because it was such a beautiful chapter in my life and I was really looking forward for what's to come," Ivanovic said. Meanwhile, Ivanovic and her husband Bastian Schweinsteiger welcomed their third kid this year.
