World No. 4 Elena Rybakina received a very pleasant surprise following her Dubai round-of-16 win as a fan waited for the Kazakh to gift her with a bouquet of roses.

On Wednesday, Rybakina survived a very tough match as she needed two hours and 41 minutes to beat world No. 53 Magdalena Frech 7-6 (5) 3-6 6-4. After avoiding a shock Dubai loss in a battle that lasted nearly three hours, Rybakina looked tired and exhausted but then a female fan got a smile on her face with her gesture.

"Brought flowers to Lena, so happy I was able to give them personally," the fan captioned her Instagram post.

After beating Frech, Rybakina was scheduled to return to the court on Thursday and play against Jasmine Paolini in the Dubai quarterfinal. Unfortunately, that match didn't happen as just before the match Rybakina withdrew due to stomach illness. ΕΎ

Last week, Rybakina played five matches in Doha - she made the final before losing to Iga Swiatek. On Wednesday, Rybakina hinted that she wasn't feeling her best after Frech and admitted that playing seven matches in just over a week was taking a toll on her body.

"I'm happy that I'm still winning the matches. But I can see by the level that of course physically and everything it's dropping a bit. I don't know how much I can push and how much I can recover in this half day," Rybakina said after beating Frech.

Although Rybakina was forced to withdraw from her Dubai quarterfinal, it was still a positive Middle East swing for the Kazakh.

Now, Rybakina will turn her focus on resting and recharging for the Sunshine Double in Indian Wells and Miami. In Indian Wells, Rybakina will return as the defending champion while in Miami she will be returning as the 2023 runner-up.
