Aryna Sabalenka and Danielle Collins made it a pretty electrifying atmosphere toward the end of their first set as the American loudly celebrated her won point before the Belarusian returned the favor in the very next point.

Leading 5-3 and serving for the first set, Collins faced a break point - which she served with a huge serve. Moments after saving a break point, Collins let out a very loud "Let's go!"

At deuce, Sabalenka showed some great defense to remain alive in the point before hitting a great passing shot to earn another break point. That's when two-time Grand Slam champion Sabalenka also made sure Collins would hear something from her as well.

After a fiery moment between the two, Sabalenka managed to get the break back but she dropped her serve in the 10th game - the game in which she was serving to stay in the first set.

But down a set, world No. 2 Sabalenka showed some great mental strength to get back in the match and ultimately seal a 4-6 6-4 6-3 round-of-16 win over Collins, who entered the match riding a 15-match winning streak.

What Sabalenka said after beating Collins?

Sabalenka, who has had a rough couple of months, didn't arrive in Madrid playing her best tennis. On the other side, Collins was coming off back-to-back titles in Miami and Charleston.

But on Monday, it was Sabalenka who put an end to Collins' winning streak.

“It was a tough battle. She played unbelievable tennis. Thank you guys for staying and supporting us. That’s why I really love Madrid. You guys are unbelievable. You make this tournament special. Thank you so much for all the support and an incredible atmosphere," Sabalenka said when addressing her win over Collins.

On Wednesday, Sabalenka will return to the court to take on rising Russian star Mirra Andreeva in the Madrid quarterfinal.
