In a post shared on his social media and in collaboration with Nike, the new ATP No.1 Jannik Sinner published an emotional message addressed directly to that 1st position in the ranking that he has chased so much and which, from Monday 10 June 2024, is became reality. A dedication that begins with Dear Number 1 and which contains the desire of that child who over time has seen his dream come true.

"I have always admired you. You were in my mind every time I won a match and especially every time I lost a match.
You were there when I was tired, discouraged, frustrated and about to give up. You're the reason I didn't. The reason I tried harder and believed in myself more. Thank you, number 1. Because without you I would never be who I am today, you. Jannik. Number one was never the destination. Number one is just the beginning,"
wrote Jannik.

A special thought, for a boy who has only begun to build something that promises to be beautiful, for himself and for the entire world of tennis. Sinner has officially become number 1 in world tennis, the 29th in history since the ATP ranking existed. At the age of 22, the Italian entered a small circle of legends of racket sport, thanks to the semi-final he reached at Roland Garros and the simultaneous withdrawal of Novak Djokovic from the Parisian Slam due to a knee injury.

Sinner now looks down on everyone, with a comforting lead of 900 points over Carlos Alcaraz, fresh winner of his third career Major. A gap that will probably allow the Italian to maintain first place until the US Open, given that his Spanish rival will defend the 2000 points earned last year at Wimbledon, where Sinner stopped in the semi-final, beaten by the 24-time Serbian slam champion.
