Garcia, who will turn 31 in October, usually keeps her private life beyond the public eye. However, since this was a major life milestone, the French tennis star decided to also share the news with her fans.

On Instagram, Garcia and Duran published a post that was captioned: "Mr. and Mrs. coming soon (engagement ring and heart emojis)"

Garcia gets engaged after the French Open

Unfortunately for world No. 22 Garcia, her French Open run was short-lived after she suffered a 3-6 3-6 loss to Sofia Kenin in the second round at Roland Garros. After the match, Garcia admitted she was disappointed over losing so early in front of her home fans.

"I’m disappointed to have lost. I didn’t manage to find my game,” Garcia said after her early French Open exit.

“She didn’t leave me a lot of margins. I didn’t manage to get the upper hand. I lost sometimes when I had actually gained points to play. This is where I have regrets."

For Garcia, it was her fourth consecutive second-round exit at French Open and reporters asked her if there were any particular issues when playing at Roland Garros.

“I don’t remember. Who beat me last year? I can’t remember,” Garcia responded when asked about her French Open results in previous years.

“Yes, everything is fine. You know, all in all, it’s the same. A defeat is a defeat. More or less it’s the same emotions than afterwards. Last year it was not the same situation. There was disappointment after both matches."

Meanwhile, Garcia is expected to kick off her grass season next week in Berlin.
