Stefanos Tsitsipas had a pretty funny and creative reaction to Lulu Sun's upset round-of-16 victory over Emma Raducanu, saying the 23-year-old New Zealander has been "the only sun" at The Championships last week.

On Sunday evening, 23-year-old qualifier Sun continued her fairytale Wimbledon debut after picking up a 6-2 5-7 6-2 win over home favorite Raducanu in her Centre Court debut.

Due to rain that was constantly hampering play and suspending matches last week, Sun and Raducanu started and played out their match under the closed roof.

"The only sun we had this week is Lulu," Tsitsipas wrote on X after world No. 123 Sun made her first Grand Slam quarterfinal as a qualifier at the most prestigious tennis tournament in the world.

Sun was lost for words after upsetting Raducanu

"I don't really have the words right now..." Sun said moments after beating Raducanu.

"It was a great match against her...I really dug deep to get the win. I really had to fight tooth and nail because she is obviously going to run for every ball and fight until the end."

Since Sun is currently ranked at No. 123 in the world and only playing her second-ever Slam main draw, this was her first chance to play on a Slam Centre Court.

"While walking through the Centre Court, I was just like looking around and taking it all in for the first time. I'm just super happy to be able to play on this court in front of all of you. It's just such an amazing experience for me," Sun revealed.

On Monday, Sun will return to the court to play against Donna Vekic, who defeated Paula Badosa to also make her first Wimbledon quarterfinal.

Going into the match, former world No. 19 Vekic probably has a small edge due to her experience. However, Sun has already beat Raducanu and Zheng Qinwen at Wimbledon and there is no doubt that the New Zealander will enter the Vekic match heavily confident.
