Coco Gauff felt she and her team "were not all in sync" during her Wimbledon round-of-16 defeat to Emma Navarro but refused to blame anyone other than herself for the loss.

After winning the 2023 US Open and also being a semifinalist at this year's Australian Open and French Open, Gauff suffered her earliest Slam defeat since last year's Wimbledon after No. 19 seed Navarro upset the second-seeded American 6-4 6-3 on Sunday.

When Navarro - who had an outstanding game plan and was perfectly executing her tactics - went 6-4 4-1 up, Gauff showed some real frustration as she emotionally pleaded with her team to give her some direction.

“Tell me something. You guys aren’t saying anything,” Gauff shouted at her coaches Brad Gilbert and Jean-Cristophe Faurel while waving with her hands.

But Gauff letting out her frustration that way didn't change anything drastically as Navarro went on to routinely close out the match in two sets.

Gauff explains the viral moment with her team

After the match, Gauff initially tried to downplay the entire situation by suggesting that it happened before as well and that it wasn't a big deal.

"It has happened before… I wouldn’t say it has happened before with maybe the combination of JC and Brad. It’s happened before in the past where I felt like I needed more direction, they usually give me something," Gauff said in her presser.

Then, Gauff admitted she felt some things weren't working but highlighted that it was up to her to step up and do figure out something in those moments.

"I felt as today, I don’t think we were all in sync, but it’s no one’s blame except myself. I’m the player out there, I have to make decisions about myself on the court," Gauff noted.

In her presser, Gauff also shared that it was one of those days "where I felt I didn't have solutions."

"But I think today mentally I was just… there was a lot going on like I felt like I wanted more direction from the box, Gauff said.
