Evidently for many - as taken by Taylor Frotz's girlfriend Morgan Riddle - the story linked to Alexander Zverev's trial is a label that the German will never remove. The finalist of the Roland Garros was the protagonist - against his will - of a clash with the very well-known influencer girlfriend of the American tennis player, who has a large following on her social media accounts.

The two tennis players, at the end of the Wimbledon 4th round match, were filmed while they were talking about what had happened and Zverev confirmed that he was annoyed by the attitude of some members inside the American's box. The German did not name names even if it seemed quite obvious that it was referring to the girlfriend of the American tennis player.

"I have no problem with Taylor, his team was quite respectful. I think of him, his coach and his physiotherapist but also the second coach. In his box there was someone who didn't come from the world of tennis, someone who maybe went a little too far. But that's okay, I don't want to make a drama out of it, it's tennis. He came back from two sets down and reached the quarterfinals, I can understand why they were so happy at the end of the match," he explained.

Morgan Riddle herself posted an Instagram Stories that perhaps highlights her hatred towards Zverev, probably because of the reasons linked to the trial for violence against his ex-girlfriend, an issue that we all know by now. Morgan has in fact posted a story where she shows herself smiling and says: "Happy when your boyfriend gets a victory for all women." Story then removed, perhaps to avoid fueling further controversy.

Returning to talk (fortunately!) about tennis, the Round of 16 gave great emotions and one of the most interesting challenges was the one between Zverev and Ritz with the American who had the upper hand in five hard-fought sets and after a disadvantage of two initial sets. The German started better and seemed in control of the match, Fritz reacted and continued to fight until finding himself in the fifth set with Sascha exhausted and weakened by a bone edema, an injury that he later confirmed in the post-match press conference.
