Taylor Fritz's girlfriend Morgan Riddle has defended herself after deleting two of her Instagram Stories and seemingly drawing criticism from Alexander Zverev, claiming the posts she made on Monday had nothing to do with the physical abuse accusations that were made against the German in the past.

While Fritz was playing against Zverev on Wimbledon's Centre Court, Riddle posted an Instagram Story and captioned it: "Cheer loud ladies." After Fritz staged an impressive five-set comeback win against Zverev, Riddle filmed herself celebrating with a drink and she also wrote: "When your man wins 4 the girls."

After Zverev stopped Fritz for a lengthy chat at the net and later clarified that he had nothing against the American or his coaching staff but against some others who were sitting in his box, it didn't take long before many started suspecting that the German wasn't happy with Riddle.

Meanwhile, Riddle deleted the two Instagram Stories in question but it was already too late because the entire situation drew so much attention.

Fritz GF Riddle's statement after the Zverev seemingly called her out

"Regarding my stories yesterday... I took them down as soon as I realized the misunderstanding and how blown out of proportion they had become by the media. They were not about anything that's happened off the tennis court & there's no bad blood between anyone. Super proud of t for the match yesterday, thank you to the crowd for the support & looking forward to tomorrow," Riddle said in a written message that was posted on her Instagram Story.

Here is what Zverev said in his presser about the controversial situation.

"His (Fritz's) team is extremely respectful. I think his coach, his physio, also his second coach, they're extremely respectful. I think there's some other people that maybe are in the box that are not maybe from the tennis world, that are not maybe from particularly watching every single match. They were a bit over the top," Zverev said after the match.

Zverev will now switch his focus to the upcoming Paris Olympics, while Fritz plays against Lorenzo Musetti on Wednesday.
