Tennis - Juan Carlos Ferrero, the former world no. 1 from Spain, is launching his tennis academy in China - another sign of the growing importance of the Chinese region in the world of tennis. Grand Gemdale Tennis ClubCo., Ltd, a subsidiary of Gemdale Group, has signed an agreement with the JC Ferrero Academy to open an international tennis academy in Shenzhen, China.
The academy will have a 5000 seat center stadium, 20 hard courts (16 indoor and 4 outdoor),4 indoor clay courts and will open later in 2014. Ferrero commented, “I feel really excited about this and I really want to collaborate in this exciting project with Gemdale.
I really surprised that this company has female scholar players and that the company is so committed to tennis. I hope to make my contribution with the Asian continent to continue promoting competition tennis”.
