Former US Open champion Sam Stosur has separated with coach Miles MacLagan less than a week before Wimbledon according to Australian media sources. It is reported that the separation occurred after Stosur's first round defeat to Caroline Wozniacki at the Aegon International earlier on this week.
The world number 17 has endured a disappointing season with a win-loss of 19-15. Her best results of 2014 was the fourth round of the French Open and reaching the semi finals in Hobart at the start of the year. According to the Herald Sun Stosur was seen practising yesterday with her personal trainer Simmone Morrow however MacLagan was not seen.
Grass has always been a tricky surface for Stosur who has never got past the third round at Wimbledon. As well as her loss to Wozniacki this week. Stosur made the third round in Birmingham last week before being beaten by fellow countrywoman Casey Dellacqua.
