Rising American star Sloane Stephens' coach, Thomas Hogstedt, insists that his ward does not fear any player on the women's circuit, as she loves to make merry at coveted tournaments. "What I like about her personality is that she doesn’t fear anybody," Hogstedt was quoted as saying by The Tennis Space.
"She likes the big stages. But the big challenge is to get her to do the daily work and to keep improving because if you’re going to keep improving, you need to play well, or, if you can’t be at your best, you need to be able to fight.
"You can be a player who gets inspired, and who likes the big stages and the big matches, but to be a top player you have to be able to play every day, and when you’re not playing on the biggest court, and when everything isn’t going your way.
"That’s the big mission," he concluded. Hogstedt, 50, has worked with the likes of Maria Sharapova, Li Na and Caroline Wozniacki in the past before joining hands with Stephens.
