Tennis - Days after reaching his first Grand Slam singles final, the cash registers have started ringing for Japan's Kei Nishikori. The 24-year-old World No. 8 was named as the Brand Ambassador for the automaker Jaguar in his native Japan.
Nishikori, the first Asian male player to reach a Grand Slam singles final, was presented with a Jaguar F-TYPE V8 S Convertible at the announcement ceremony today.
This latest endorsement adds to Nishikori's growing brand portfolio. He was already ranked among the top 10 moneymakers in tennis before his US Open breakthrough and that is only likely to increase now.
Magnus Hansson, the CEO of Jaguar Land Rover Japan, told the press on Wednesday that the company was very pleased to partner with Nishikori, who he called the most energetic player in Japan. Nishikori also endorses other brands such as Uniqlo, Wilson, Tag Heuer, and Nissin.
