Talented Ukrainian Dayana Yastremska, born in May 2000 in Odessa, won her first professional title today, in Campinas, Brazil. Dayana became only the 4th player born in 2000 who managed to achieve that, but also the first who was victorious above the lowest $10,000 level, which makes this success even more impressive.
With those points, Dayana will enter Top 500, as the best player of her generation! She is one of the many talented players that comes from the former USSR, a trend that has started some 15 years ago, with no indications to end soon.
Dayana showed how talented she is already in 2012, winning some G12 titles before reaching the final of Junior Orange Bowl, where she got beaten by Abigail Desiatnikov in 2 close sets. Next year she has switched to the G14 level, and in 2014 we could saw her in the oldest junior age group, victorious in two lower ranked G18 events.
Dayana's progress continued to be fast, playing her first professional event in Egypt last year in February, still at the age of 14, where she won one match, for her first WTA point. Next week, playing again at Sharm El Sheikh, Dayana has qualified for the main draw and went all the way until semi-final, showing what potential she possesses.

Olesya Pervushina (RUS) - $10K Santa Margherita Ranked outside Top 1000, Dayana had to play qualifications here in Campinas first, and after two easy wins she barely escaped against Bianca Turati, beating the Italian in a third set tie break.
She opened the main draw campaign by beating lucky loser Naomi Totka 6-3 6-1. Swiss teenager Jil Teichmann fell in a second round in 3 sets, and Dayana was in the semi-final after ousting Conny Perrin. It was a very long and grueling match, with 19 breaks in total! Ukrainian came from behind to win 3-6 6-4 7-6, reaching her first pro final.
There, world number 157 Alize Lim awaited, but youngster played great tennis. In her 8th match since the start of the tournament, she celebrated by 6-4 6-4, for her biggest success so far in career. Dayana showed great physical and mental strength during this week in Campinas, and we can for sure expect more from this great talent in the rest of the season.
