ATP/WTA Roma will have a roof on the Central Court!

205.000 spectators, 11 milion euros of income, a record of 26.000 people during only one day. Those are some of the incredible numbers of ATP/WTA Rome event that aims to improve even more. "We are sure that next year we will raise even more and that the tournament will have better perspectives - said Angelo Binaghi, Italian tennis federation President.

Binaghi also announced that Italy could host Under 21 Masters event in Turin or Milan by 2017 in the same week of the ATP Finals and with the same format. The best seven under 21 ranked players and a wild card would play. The decision will be made after Wimbledon.

Giovanni Malagň, Italian Olympic Committee President, announced some funding of work for the roof on the Central Court and the expansion of Grand Stand arena, from 5.300 to 6.850 seats: "We want to invest on the roof the Central like Madrid, Rod Laver Arena and Wimbledon." If from one side there are improvements, from the other one some players like Rafael Nadal, David Ferrer and Juan Monaco criticized the tournament because the space has not been increased and there are only few the training courts.
