Fernando Gonzalez Joins Coaching Ranks on ATP Tour

Tennis - Former Top 5 player Fernando Gonzalez, who was best known for his bludgeoning forehand, is the latest player to join the ranks of coach on the ATP Tour. The Chilean player will be part of the coaching team of World No.

161 Gonzalo Lama, a rising Chilean player. The two will start working in the weeks ahead of the US Open and will continue to work together till the end of 2017. As per ESPN, Gonazalez commented, "This year we travel a couple of weeks and also work together in the preseason.

I love challenges as a coach and I really like how he plays and am looking forward to seeing how it works." Gonzalez said he would like to make Lama play better on fast courts as well as improve his serves. He aims to help Lama break into the Top 50 of the world rankings.
